If you are an Amazon seller here is something you may have never heard before, Amazon is reducing their fees. Thats right starting October 15th, 2017 through October 14, 2018 they are reducing the referral fee on items sold within the GROCERY category. The current referral fee for grocery items is 15% and the new promotional fee will be 8% on items that are priced at $15.00 or less. As you are pricing your grocery items it would be wise to remember that $15.00 mark. If you are trying to be the lowest price offer on Amazon and that happens to put your item at say $15.01, well you are better off listing that item at $15.00 instead to make use of the fee discount. Below is a copy of the e-mail Amazon sent out to sellers:
Dear Seller,
To help you list more products and keep prices competitive, we are offering you a limited-time referral fee discount on Grocery products. This fee promotion starts at 12:00 a.m. October 15, 2017 (PST), and will run through 11:59 p.m. October 14, 2018 (PST). During this promotion, the referral fee will be 8% of the total sales price for Grocery products that have a total sales price of $15.00 or less. The total sales price is the price paid by the buyer, including the item price and any shipping and gift-wrap charges.
Current Fees:
* 15% of the total sales price on all Grocery items
New Fees:
* 8% of the total sales price for items that have a total sales price of $15.00 or less
* 15% of the total sales price for items that have a total sales price of more than $15.00
Note: We apply referral fee discounts at the time an order is placed for any eligible items sold during a fee promotion. Referral fee discounts will show up as a Referral Fee Discount line item in your Transaction Details. We may change or cancel this fee promotion at any time by giving you a notice describing applicable changes. Once this fee promotion ends, standard referral fees will apply.
