Ring - Orion1876 - 05-26-2020

My father in law recently gave us a Ring doorbell and a couple Ring lights.  I just installed the doorbell and will be putting the lights in our backyard soon.

Does anyone use any of the Ring devices?

If so, what is your experience with them?

I use Ring.  I previously had an alarm system/home automation system through Spectrum and they EOL'd it so I had to change.  I got one year of Ring Professional for free so I went with them.

I very very much love my system.  I have cameras, doorbell, sensors on every window and door (even my shed), light switches, etc., etc., etc.  All connected together.  This all integrates with Alexa as well.  My only complaint is that it doesn't record long enough when it detects motion, nor does it reset the timer if it continues to see motion during a motion event.

Their service is a STEAL for the prices.  Their customer service is lacking big time.  Their service comes with:
  • Monitoring
  • Cloud storage for all video recording devices
  • Warranty for all devices (if anything dies they send you a new one and you send the broken one back).

So far we have been happy with the video doorbell.     It has a narrow shot of the street since our doorbell is on the side.  Only big trucks seem to register.  It does not catch every car thankfully.

Luckily on my street the only car the primarily sets it off is the mail truck. Smile
