I like to think I'm good at fishing, gf would say otherwise. I like fixing vehicles but ended up breaking them worse. What's that phrase, "if it ain't broke don't fix it or fix it until you break it" that's me. Don't say unfortunately. There is nothing wrong with that (unless you are saying it for other reasons than our current state of affairs). RE: What do you do? I suppose they aren't necessarily the same thing. lol RE: What do you do? Many end up in a career they did not originally intend even though they may be good at many other things. Finding some joy at least in what you do is important. RE: What do you do? I know two people with criminology degrees that are both IT Managers. lol RE: What do you do? I have also known a few people that got a business degree and now they are teachers. RE: What do you do? Degrees are overrated sometimes. Things like doctors and lawyers maybe not. When I hire someone for IT I don't even consider degrees. Experience > Degree. RE: What do you do? I agree with the "Experience > Degree" thing 100%. Also its really funny how many people get a degree in something and then the job they end up in has nothing to do with that degree at all. Its almost like when you are 18 going into lifelong debt to go to college you don't actually know what you want to spend the rest of your life doing. Shocker. RE: What do you do? It is also sad that the useless piece of paper is what would get your foot in the door for that job that has nothing to do with the degree. RE: What do you do? What are you good at? - TexasWoc - 06-01-2020 I am a Family Nurse Practitioner and I work full time at a State Psychiatric Hospital in Texas. I also work part time/prn at the local acute care hospital as a Wound/Ostomy Specialist. I'm good at drinking beer and piddling around doing little projects around my farm. I have been restoring a 1962 Massey Ferguson 35 Diesel Deluxe for the past 3 years with the help of a mechanic buddy of mine. My grandfather was a diesel mechanic for International Harvester and unfortunately never taught my dad anything about being a mechanic so he had nothing to pass down to me. I like trying to fix things and tinkering with things but I have never really had the tools to do much before coming across the struggleville youtube channel a couple of years ago. Now, my buddy, who is a mechanic, says that if he didn't know any better he would think I was a mechanic based on my tool boxes and variety of different tools. I owe is all to PJ! And like I tell my buddy "I never pay full price for anything". RE: What do you do?
