I also work part time/prn at the local acute care hospital as a Wound/Ostomy Specialist. I'm good at drinking beer and piddling around doing little projects around my farm. I have been restoring a 1962 Massey Ferguson 35 Diesel Deluxe for the past 3 years with the help of a mechanic buddy of mine. My grandfather was a diesel mechanic for International Harvester and unfortunately never taught my dad anything about being a mechanic so he had nothing to pass down to me. I like trying to fix things and tinkering with things but I have never really had the tools to do much before coming across the struggleville youtube channel a couple of years ago. Now, my buddy, who is a mechanic, says that if he didn't know any better he would think I was a mechanic based on my tool boxes and variety of different tools. I owe is all to PJ! And like I tell my buddy "I never pay full price for anything". Thats the way to go bud! Full price is for suckers ? How close are you to finishing the tractor? What are your plans for it once its done? RE: What do you do? What are you good at? - Lifebeholder - 06-03-2020 I am probably the only person that read the title and thought..."Who is your daddy and what does he do?" LOL PJ is very knowledgeable in many different and well diverse areas and I don't think he truly knows that not everyone knows that much about all those things. It might seem quite simple to him, but for some of us that have never done it before it is so foreign. Selling on eBay seems so simple but the postage is a pain in the butt and not having all the boxes actually at the post office and having to special order them, what on earth. And there are commercial prices and now changes in the distance and weight even more than before. There are so many fees. Car stuff *I have to laugh* I could if I knew what I was doing, but I too had a father that has no clue about cars. He could probably build anything I wanted or at least have the knowledge too, but I didn't get that passed on to me either. I am like free labor. I want to learn and my life goal is to have a life partner that will be able to do those things with me and if they could foot half of the bill even better. I have worked in different areas of my profession and we will just say I am an essential worker that, is trying to work towards having more control of my schedule sooner than later in my life. I like my job, but in moderations and feel I am not 100% that job, but I 100% want to continue doing it just not as primary work. I am looking to diverse myself depending on where my life decides to take me and what might happen in the future. I would love to get to the point that I could just be sustainable with already made income and then branch off into other things that could later lead into possible income streams. I think I am good at looking up and sometimes getting deals. I can definitely be assertive and stand my ground and back off if I need to. I think I am decent at finances, but most of it has been self-taught by reading, researching, and questioning a lot of things, so I am still consistently learning in that area. I have never truly had many good examples that freely want to discuss money situations, but I do seem to have lots of family and friends ask me about things, so I feel that is something if they think I have done well for myself in life, to ask. Speaking of getting deals, looks like we will be needing a new Menards post this week when they finally abandon the 11% marathon. |
