I really hope the Guard is ready......

Don't these people have to work in the morning????  Never mind.

I don't think so.. or they are planning to call in sick from jail.    lol
As I left work today I heard they are starting to bring the protests to small towns including where I work.............................

Oh no.  Yikes.     I heard today that he will be buried in Houston.   I am afraid of what will follow after the funeral is held here.
Unless the Guard gets hold.

Hopefully it will be calmer by then.  The family is planning to have their own protest in town later this week too.

At least the family protest should be peaceful.

I hope so.  It may start that way, but if it grows large enough there is no telling.

RE: Menards just lost my business - Lifebeholder - 06-03-2020

I am mixed on the older generations forced to stay home. I would like to encourage them to do so, but I am seeing tons of older people out in the stores and it is 50/50 them wearing masks. I would like to help protect them and the people I am concerned about how many lego my eggo grandmas are there? They are video chatting with their families and then going to stores with no masks? Some of these generations have seem and lived through much more in their lifetime then some and who knows what they are immune to because if it. I am thinking more people with preconditions are at risk and are already unhealthy. Yes, the older you are the more chances you do have at least one chronic condition.
Other topic- I do wish the protesters and rioters has something more productive to do with their time and not so much free time on their hands. Healthcare is stretched or can could easily be. We don't need more stress with more crimes. We don't need police and other emergency personal stretched during this time. People are stressed and bored and going out of their minds, but doesn't mean that you have to make more work for the people are still having to be at work and just need an easy day once in awhile in their lives.
I don't understand why people would just got out with huge groups of people when 3 months ago you knew there is something going around, but nature seems to take care of things and I can't feel sorry for people that put themselves in harms way. Government paid some of them to stay home and if you choose to go out after the fact and especially to those extremes with that many people, you might have just fixed our problem and eliminated yourself in the same process.

RE: Menards just lost my business - Yukon - 06-03-2020

I think there are different forces at work with all the riots. You have the peaceful protest group who are truly concerned and mad about what happened with that man who was killed. You have the anarchists who are actually traveling to different areas to simply instigate violence, destruction, and stir shit in general. Them, there is the group of people who are easily influenced to do bad things.

My local news radio group interviewed some people live a couple nights ago while they were breaking into a store and stealing stuff.

Radio guy: Why are you doing this?

Thief: They have insurance to pay for it.

That is one example of the mindset you spoke of in your post. No concept of the ramifications of their actions. Just an everybody's gettin something, so I’m gettin mine, too, attitude. Sad, but true.

They interviewed the lead cop on scene that night. The cop said they actually arrested several people from out of state who had radios and were directing each other to areas of town that needed to be stirred up. Just plain directing people to loot and destroy.

Truly despicable.

RE: Menards just lost my business - PJ - 06-03-2020

I also heard that some States Attorney are refusing to prosecutor rioters so they are being immediately released and New Yorks no cash bail law is causing everyone arrested to be released too.

Craziness. I wonder how many of these business actually have insurance that covers their supplies, inventory, etc and don't just have liability so they can't get sued when someone slips on a wet floor.

The conspiracy theorist in me thinks something is going on with some of these businesses. I get it on night 1 or night 2 they might not of thought their places would get looted but by nights 5,6,7,8.... why the hell do you have an empty store full of thousands of dollars of merchandise? A store that sells Rolex watches got looted... why the hell didn't you just simply take the watches home or something?
