LED Deformable Lights - Thumbs Up or Thumbs Down?

You can put led bulbs in florescent ballast.  I did this in my garage. I want to pick up a couple deformable lights for the garage door opener light. To get them t ok face the correct location I'm going to order light socket extension.

Good info on the ballasts!!!!!  Are they all compatible with that???

Good idea using the deformables in the garage door opener, but I am not sure I can use in mine as I have a cover (which I could remove I suppose), and because of the angle it is right up against my opener I think  I will need to check again.
