Ridgid did just come out with a sub compact line of tools and a new high torque impact wrench. It does appear they are trying to expand the brand a bit.
But it's still the same thing. What about a caulk gun or a big fan.... etc.
Since Ridgid is made by the same company as Milwaukee they will tend to limit the tools somewhat it seems.
I have heard there was a Ridgid miter saw at Depot a year or so ago bit is no longer for sale. The though is that it was too good and was better than the Milwaukee, so they got rid of it.
