We are at 1.85 here in Florida currently for gas.
It is funny how the price of oil is not reflected in the price of gas very well. The cost of oil was negative for a day, and yet the price of gas never dropped lower than about $1.45 per gallon here. When the price of oil goes up the price of gas goes up, but when the price of oil goes down the price of gas not so much. There seems to be a bit of price fixing going on clearly.
Well the one thing to consider is that even if oil was free, gas companies still need to charge to refine the oil, store, transport, and deliver it to your car, so there will always be a charge.
This is very true but it still seems odd how it goes up in price much faster then it goes lower when the price of oil goes down. Prices go up even though the gas in the tanks was purchased a while ago at cheaper prices.
That is a different conversation all together, and I couldn't agree with you more there.
It will be interesting to see how prices are affected by recent destruction of some gas stations.
