**I bought what looks to be an identical antenna back in June 2019. I have mine mounted in my attic and it is unable to pick up stations 75 miles away. And I live in Northern Illinois, 100s of miles away from anything that could be considered a hill. The antenna does however pick up stations about 40 miles away. The rotor on it has always worked for me. The cable it comes with will really impress you. You will be absolutely shocked at how awful the quality is. That being said mine has been fine.
