Harbor Freight recently recalled 350,000 One Stop Gardens propane heaters because they are a fire hazard! If you own either of the 15,000 or 30,000 BTU tank top heaters you can return them for a refund at Harbor Freight. The refund will be in the form of a gift card. Harbor Freight is supposed to be contacting known buyers of this item. Below is the recall information from the Consumer Product Safety Commission.

In windy weather, the flame can be directed to the rear of the unit, which can melt the “tip switch” safety shut off feature at the rear of the heater. This poses a risk that the heater will not turn off if it tips over and poses a burn hazard to consumers.

Description:
This recall involves the One Stop Gardens 15,000 BTU Tank Top Propane Heater (Item #63073) and the One Stop Gardens 30,000 BTU Tank Top Propane Heater (Item #63072). The heaters are designed to mount on top of a standard 20 lb. propane tank, and have an “easy start” with variable heat control valve, high efficiency heat reflector, and safety shutoff.

Remedy:
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled tank top propane heaters and return them to their local Harbor Freight Tools store for a full refund of the purchase price, plus applicable tax, in the form of a Harbor Freight Tools gift card. Harbor Freight Tools is contacting all known purchasers directly.

Incidents/Injuries:
The firm has received reports of nine incidents of flame redirection to the rear of the heater and/or the tip switch safety feature melting. Three of these incidents resulted in minor burn injuries when the consumers attempted to turn off the unit.

Sold At:
Harbor Freight Tools stores nationwide and online at www.harborfreight.com from December 2015 through April 2021 for about $45 for the 15,000 BTU model and about $75 for the 30,000 BTU model.

As you probably already know Harbor Freight isn’t pumping out the coupons like they used to. Over the last few months they have been putting out a few specialty coupons that are good for only 3-4 days at a time. The coupons may not be available like they used to be but they still are discounting prices on some items. Below is a list of recently marked down items at Harbor Freight.

Harbor Freight just released a new 10% off coupon with no exclusions! And with it a new FREE ITEM coupon that includes 3 items to choose from! These coupons expire on 3/11.

Harbor Freight recently sent out an e-mail touting their new line of smart home products. The new items are made by Geeni. The interesting thing about this is 99% of products sold at Harbor Freight are their own brands. Geeni as far as I can tell is not. Geeni has existed for a few years and its parent company Merkury Innovations states it has been around for nearly 20.

At some point Harbor Freight decided they wanted to get into smart home products. Many of these products are produced in China, most Harbor Freight products are produced in China. Seems to me it would be very easy for them to source these products. However it looks as though they are sourcing through another company. This is not their typical business model so I think it will be interesting to see if they continue doing this with other lines of products or if this is just a one off. It is possible that this untypical outsourcing is more related to app development or app integration than anything related directly to the products.

Because Geeni products are available at other retailers such as Amazon I wanted to compare what Harbor Freight is currently offering with the prices of those same products on Amazon. Check out the list below.

It seems like sales at stores are finally starting to get back to normal and with that Harbor Freight has put out a new 25% off coupon! This coupon is good for 3 days only, 12/4-12/6. It includes the usual large list of excluded brands.

Here is a coupon I don’t remember seeing before. For this coupon Harbor Freight will take $5 off orders of $50+ or $10 off orders of $100+. The coupon says no exclusions and part of the fine print says, “after applying any other applicable offers or discounts”. This line leads me to believe you can use specific item coupons and 20% coupons along with this new coupon. It would be a pleasant surprise if thats how it works. This coupon is good through 11/22.

A couple of times a year Harbor Freight puts out this style of coupon. They have several items that are only $5 with coupon. The coupons can only be used in store and you have to make a $49.99+ purchase. In the past you could simply buy $49+ of $5 coupon tools and still receive the discount, I would suspect that will apply this time around also.

Harbor Freight has put out a 15% coupon. This coupon does not include the laundry list of brand exclusions that the typical 20% coupon does. For ITC members this coupon bumps up to a 20% coupon. This coupon expires on 11/1/20 so you only have a few days. Its a great time to buy something that doesn’t normally have a coupon and is excluded from the typical 20% coupon.

The return of the free item coupons from Harbor Freight! Well kind of… and for only 3 days. The latest iteration of free item coupon from Harbor Freight introduces a minimum purchase of $24.99 to receive an item for free. The good news is the free items are things we haven’t seen free in the past. Will this be the new normal? Is this just a trial run? Only time will tell. Harbor Freight has a new twist to their 30% coupon for us. This time they are taking 30% off of US General accessories. The coupon below includes all the valid item numbers. These are toolbox accessories like socket rails, wrench holders, screwdriver holders, etc. The coupon is valid through 10/18/20.

Harbor Freight recently recalled over 1 million 3 and 6 ton jack stands due to the fact that… they can unexpectedly drop a car on you! The recalls actually started on March 13th and April 24th. Not sure why its just making the round now but check the item numbers on your jack stands! If yours match any of the numbers listed in the title RETURN THEM to the store and they will give you a gift card. Below I will include text from and links to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration which put out reports on both the 3 and 6 ton jack stands. (The below information is specifically for the 3 ton but the link for the 6 ton is below as well.)

Harbor Freight has issued a new 10% coupon that is valid now thru 11/1/19 through 11/3/19. The coupon is off your ENTIRE PURCHASE. The fine print is listed below, the coupon says it can’t be combined with other discounts however it would be interesting to see how it interacts with the current 30% off coupon or the $5 off $50 coupon. This coupon can be used in-store or only.

Harbor Freight has issued a coupon that takes $5 off your purchase of $50 or more. This coupon is valid in-store only. It CAN be used with the other percentage off coupons currently available. This coupon expires on 11/10/19.

Harbor Freight has issued a new 10% coupon that is valid now thru 11/27/19. The coupon can be used on ANY ITEM, NO EXCLUSIONS.

Its great to see Harbor Freight issue coupons with no exclusions. I consistently hear complaints about all the brands that are excluded from the 20% coupons. However, is it just me or is it hard to get too excited for a 10% coupon? Do I expect too much from Harbor Freight or are they getting stingy with the discounts?
