The ‘good’ in this is obvious. However, there is some not-quite-so-good. One is – It appears that the browse/search rebates is gone from the rebate center page. Long-term rebates don’t show up in later ads. I don’t use it often, but I have searched the entire list several times. Another is – Unless they put the rebate amount on the receipt, the individual rebate amount is not available after the ad goes away. I like to know what to expect to have coming back.
These aren’t ‘bad’, just ‘not-quite-so-good’.
I discovered the new single form myself last night. Even better… I filled it out once and saved it as a PDF so I won’t have to fill it out again. Just reprint the PDF each week. I sent them a suggestion about 6 months ago asking for a way to do multiple rebates on a single page. This new system is even better than I imagined.
I wish if they were going to revamp the system they would just let people submit rebates online. This is better but even Home Depot with their price match rebate lets you submit online.
I know they make a lot of money from people who never mail in the rebates. For that reason I can see why they don’t want to make it too easy to do. A lot of people I know just can’t be bothered by mailing in a rebate, and maybe they miss a sale since it is or was hard to do. I know I’ve become a more loyal customer since I’ve bought into the rebate system. Anyway, today I was thinking they should make the whole system fast and automatic if you were a Menards credit card holder. That idea popped into my head as I was entering for the weekly $1,000 drawing.
